SYNOPSIS
Southerly tells the story of a young and impulsive Ada, who escapes Melbourne’s 2020 lockdown for a rural NSW coastal property, bringing with her a guitar, a phone addiction and growing dependence on alcohol.
After a heavy night of drinking, Ada wakes up in a nearby neighbour’s yard to discover a washed-up musician Josh, and, more importantly, his fully functioning music studio. Sensing a chance to turn around an otherwise disappointing year, Ada decides to make some music with the help of a very reluctant Josh.
As they work together, Ada & Josh are forced to challenge each other, as well as themselves, ultimately finding the opportunity for the change they both need.
